A heart transplant story that resulted in
117,622 new hearts for one patient
When 74-year-old Phyllis Weissblum was denied a heart transplant by every hospital because of her age, NYU Langone Health welcomed her. Just two days later, she received a new heart. A year later, we surprised her with the film “Hearts for Phyllis”—earning her 117,622 new hearts (and counting) across social media on her 75th birthday.
Part of the three-year #TheBestOutcomes campaign, it was one of many initiatives and films that won not only Phyllis’ heart, but also key accolades for NYU Langone
