closing the 23% gender pay gap
with 23% redacted tweets.
In 2017, women were still making 23% less than men, globally. This costs the global economy $840 billion every year. And at the rate we’re going, it would take 70 years to close the pay gap.
So we reframed the pay gap as something it had never been called before. The biggest robbery in history. And used the 140 character limit of twitter at the time, to our advantage. Launched at the UN General Assembly alongside Patricia Arquette and Abby Wambach, the campaign got over half a billion media impressions in a month.
